Around this time last year, my friend Sam bought me a book for my birthday: The Photographers Playbook.
She forgot to gift it, but in January she remembered and I've been grateful for it. She said "There's a lot of neat things from what I read when I picked it up, and I thought 'Joe would like this', so...Happy Late Birthday!".
This book is perfect for what I wanted for the Mr. Photo Blog, and myself.
The forward says, "We imagine this book can be used as an inspiration for the student; an exercise manual for the working photographer; a reference for the teacher..."
And I feel like it's exactly that for me. Maybe more.
You can never stop being a student, why not continue to learn?
Training to keep your skills sharp is on par with my philosophy and mindset.
And a good building block to understand a concept, and maybe teach it one day, is always fun to share.
After reading through the book for a few weeks (here and there) I picked out a few good ones to start on.
Here's to challenging yourself, ceaseless learning, and hobbies.
